Delay – You must know when to hold them and when to fold them.
Basically, there is a time to play, a time not to play.
Delay means we are going to hold and suspend long enough to figure out what we need to do.
You see, sometimes it is not easy, the answers are not easy, the direction is not clear. And calling a timeout, saying wait a minute let’s pull our self aside here, let’s talk about this, let’s thinks about it, let’s look at this.
Delay is even more important, more effective, when surrounded by those who know and love you well.
There is a reason why the coach calls timeout and brings the players together. He is developing a strategy, he is asking hard questions, they are making changes.
Maybe you need to do a timeout. Look at your life, your business, where you are and what you are doing, take that delay so that when you come out of that timeout you will be a better person because of it.
